Welcome is a
significant part of the Gospel of Jesus Christ as he traveled the countryside looking for people who would welcome him into their homes and their gatherings
and for those who would welcome the message and the sense of the presence of
God that he brought with him and left behind in the form of the Holy Spirit.
Welcome is also a significant part of a
Christian community as we who are a part of Christ’s church extend a welcome to
all who would hear Christ’s message and share in the work of living as Christ’s
Therefore, I am glad to
welcome you to this website and to the life of our congregation here at Second
Congregational Church of Coventry, CT.
myself, was welcomed into this community a few years ago having been
called to come here from North Carolina, but I have been pleased to feel a
sense of welcome from the people immediately upon my arrival, and I have been proud
to watch this community extend that same kind of welcome to visitors and new
members who have worshipped, fellowshipped, and shared in learning with us
during that time.
Whether you come to
our worship service, bring your children to Sunday morning Sunday School, partake in one of our church dinners, or attend any of
our fellowship or Christian education opportunities, I can assure you
that you will know that you are welcome and wanted in our fellowship and that
you will feel a sense of Christ’s love from our members and friends alike.
